Please stop waving your hands. You want experts? Let's start with Isaac Newton...

Oh right! Highschool level physics is beyond the level of expectation for non-specialists, even those who think of themselves as otherwise well educated.

I was able to take on NIST not because I was smarter than they are but because they were dealing out unrefined BS at the level of highschool physics and I called them out on it. You might notice that they responded by changing their final report. Apparently they found my critique "compelling." The appropriate level of expertise in this case is highschool physics done right. (My Freefall series, cited above, spells it out.)
